contributed by Paula Hemphill It's Advent. The season of waiting. Anticipation of the arrival of our King Jesus. It's my favorite season of all the seasons. Typical (horrible) rush hour traffic in my big city actually makes me smile during this season. The white lights of the cars passing, the red of the tail lights, the green of the street lights... they all feel so much more festive to me during advent. As child ambassadors, we are always actively waiting on one thing or another. We're waiting on picture folders, or an answer from that one friend we asked to sponsor, or a "yes." We're waiting in prayer. Waiting on God to move hearts. We're waiting. And so are the children and families we serve. Children are waiting on sponsors, and letters, and water, and shelter. And they are waiting on hope. Advent. The season of waiting. This advent, let's actively seek God's heart for our ministries. Let us not be discouraged in our waiting, because He never wastes it. He is waiting for us here. Last year, World Vision published a beautiful advent guide for this season. You can download it below to share with friends and family. If any of you would like to read along with me, I welcome you to do so! Comments are closed.
