Meet Taleen Jackson!
Her favorite non-World Vision hobby is Horse Polo. She has been married for 15 years and has a 10 year old son. Taleen is originally from a small town in Indiana and she is currently a graduate student through Liberty University. She is earning a Master's Degree in Public Policy/International Affairs.
Taleen, could you tell us a little bit about what made you become a CA?
I could not stand the thought of my child having to endure the pain and suffering that so many other children around the globe do. I want to be a voice to help other children and parents.
Taleen, could you tell us a little bit about your favorite event/favorite sponsorship story as a CA?
At my very first child sponsorship event for a small Bible study, I had a lady approach me requesting to sponsor a child in Cambodia. She and her husband had adopted from Cambodia. They sponsored and their son was able to connect with a child from his own country through sponsorship! All I had to do was ASK!
Is there a bit of encouragement you could give to other CA's?
Never give up! All Child Ambassadors, including Team Leaders, have experienced awkward moments asking people for sponsorship. There's no cause more worth that awkward moment than this: to help impoverished kids in the world! Keep asking! You will eventually get a "yes" and there's nothing more rewarding than knowing God has used you as an instrument to change a life!
Which scripture/quote gives you encouragement in this ministry?
"The righteous care about justice for the poor, but the wicked have no such concern.” - Proverbs 29:7
