Meet Dana Hadigian.
Her favorite hobbies include American Revolution history and reenacting.
Dana has been happily married to her husband, David, for over 20 years. They have a 16 year old daughter, Emily, and a 13 year old son, Luke. They have two dogs, Brownie and Wilberforce.
Dana became a CA because she loved being a sponsor. She had been considering becoming a CA for a while. When adoption of two international children fell through, she sank into a deep depression. She says she desperately needed to do something positive and life-changing for someone. One of those things (along with becoming licensed foster parents) was to become a CA. With every sponsor she found she felt better and better. God used World Vision's CA program to help her through a very hard and dark time in her life.
Dana, could you tell us a little bit about your favorite event/favorite sponsorship story as a CA?
There are many, but on several occasions people have come back to me a year or more after becoming sponsors and thanked me for introducing them to sponsorship and World Vision. They have thanked me because sponsorship has been such a blessing to them, and they have even helped me find sponsors from their groups of friends. To hear people speaking so positively about sponsoring really helps keep me motivated.
Is there a bit of encouragement you could give to other CA's?
More people will say "no" than "yes". Keep finding more people to ask. Don't give up!
Which scripture/quote gives you encouragement in this ministry?
"If you want a love message to be heard, it has got to be sent out. To keep a lamp burning, we have to keep putting oil in it." -Mother Teresa
